Quirk has autism spectrum disorder, a condition that effects social communication and interaction with other people. He has an aversion to being touched or touching other people, so he prefers to be alone. While incredibly smart, Quirk has trouble reading social cues, starting conversations, and making eye contact. He gets angry quickly and shuts down when overwhelmed. He is creative and has clever ideas. And despite the way he treats others, Quirk genuinely wants to help people.
Quirk has always had trouble making friends, so he prefers being alone. When he found an old human hoodie, he felt comfortable hiding inside it. The hoodie provides a barrier between himself and others and he likes feeling hidden and unseen.

NAME: Glitch Oblong
AGE: 14 cycles old
GRADE: 10th
Glitch has Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Anxiety, with intrusive hyperfixation as his major issue. He becomes obsessed with a single subject (in his case, a fixation with humans). Glitch has trouble making friends and suffers from anxiety and depression. When scared, Glitch contracts all his limbs into his body and goes into “Egg Mode” until he can deal with the world. He’s fragile, like an egg, but also full of potential (also like an egg). Glitch desperately wants to belong and find a place to fit in, but has never had friends due to his eccentricities. He is also a hacker who illegally bypassed cyber security to access the internet to find out more about humans and their fate.

NAME: Trig Sonor
AGE: 15 cycles old
GRADE: 10th
Trig suffers from misophonia, a condition of decreased tolerance to specific sounds or noises. People with misophonia have strong emotional or physical reactions to sounds that trigger a response. Trig also suffers from an increased sensitivity to light, glare, and sudden changes to light intensity. She often seeks out dark, quiet spaces to decompress. Neurodivergent people are often overcome by crowded spaces, noisy environments, bright lights, or too much cognitive input all at once.
Ironically, Trig’s yellow torso housing is shaped like a bell, her biggest auditory trigger.

NAME: Fidget Motus
AGE: 12 cycles old
GRADE: 9th
Fidget has ADHD, a mental disorder of inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity. People with ADHD have trouble focusing, suffer from forgetfulness, disorganization, and are often fidgeting, restless, and blurt things out. ADHD can lead to poor self-esteem and social function in children when not appropriately treated. While Fidget is aware of his diagnosis, he cannot control his behavior or impulsivity. He is very compassionate and empathetic, but is so often wrapped up in his own thoughts that he may miss social cues and context.
